21+ Chest Exercises And How To Use Them

Got a request from an Inner Circle member and customer of The Gains With Gabe Program to share some chest building exercises.

And so I’m going to take this opportunity to be a complete nerd and give you the deets on building the chest that I’ve learned from multiple PT certification courses, various studies I’ve read, insights from bodybuilders such as the esteemed Dr. Mike Israetel, combined with my own experience over the years.

Let’s get right into it.

The cool part about the chest muscle is it really only has one main function:

To bring the upper arm towards the center line of the body.

There are some other functions of the pectoralis major and minor aka the chest, but they all contribute to that main function.

And so building chest muscles is super simple:

Push things and do chest flys every week.

For pushing exercises, you can do things like:

-Flat or incline barbell bench press
-Flat or incline dumbbell bench press
-Flat or incline machine chest press
-Flat or incline cable chest press

-Push ups of all sorts
