3 Huge Mistakes That Held Me Back From Getting In Shape

Thinking back to before I got off the literal couch I spent too much time on and got myself in shape…

There were some major mistakes I was making that not only held me back, but were the cause of my weight gain in the first place.

Let’s break them down, starting with an easily overlooked problem:

1. Drinking too much

Come to find out, it’s not the carbs from alcohol that pack on so many calories.

In fact, a 50ml shot of straight bourbon has 0 carbs, 0 fat, and 0 protein per serving.

The calories come from the 14g of alcohol which is about 7 calories per gram which makes up the ~100 calories per shot.

Have 5 shots across a night? 500 calories.

A standard bottle of beer is roughly 11g carbs and 14g alcohol which makes up the 150 calories.

That stuff adds up quick.

And since I was out drinking with friends a couple times per week, it’s no surprise I packed on a solid 50 pounds from 2007 to 2012.

Especially when combined with the next mistake…

2. Eating whatever whenever
