Do You Need To Do A Refeed Day For Weight Loss?

Got a comment on Instagram recently, which went as follows:

“Do we need to do a refeed on a mini cut?”

Referring to the 6 week mini cut diet I’m doing right now, which I referenced in the video.

It’s an interesting question, because I didn’t reference refeed days in the video and I rarely talk about them…

And yet, I’m incorporating them into this diet.

All I’m doing is eating 2,600 calories on Sundays instead of the regularly planned 2,000.

Anyway, my response to the above question was this:

“You don’t have to, but it depends on how you set it up too. If you’re doing a normal 500 calorie deficit, def not necessary. But if you’re doing a 700+ deficit, it can be super helpful to eat at maintenance once per week to make it easier to stick to”

At the end of the day, it comes down to preference and practicality.

However, there are 2 problems you might face with these higher calorie days:
