Don’t Get Caught Up In THIS False Dieting Conclusion

Last Monday I weighed in at 169.2lbs, and this morning my bodyweight is 163.8lbs only one week later…

Does that mean I lost 5.4 pounds of fat?

The short, accurate, and FTC-friendly answer is no.

The longer answer with more useful context so you can manage your expectations is this:

When you start a new diet there are a few things that happen:

  1. You eat less food so you’re hungrier
  2. Your body starts using the readily available stored energy like muscle glycogen first
  3. Then it starts burning fat

Since you’re no longer eating an excess of food, you’ll flush the water weight quickly before things start re-regulating.

That’s why so many people experience a rapid scale-dropping experience in the beginning.

But having done these short diets so many times over the years to balance out intentional weight gain phases, I know it doesn’t last forever.

In fact, right now we’re at the point where everything starts to slow down, which explains why so many dieters drop out after a couple weeks.
