Don’t Get Caught Up In THIS False Dieting Conclusion
Last Monday I weighed in at 169.2lbs, and this morning my bodyweight is 163.8lbs only one week later…
Does that mean I lost 5.4 pounds of fat?
The short, accurate, and FTC-friendly answer is no.
The longer answer with more useful context so you can manage your expectations is this:
When you start a new diet there are a few things that happen:
- You eat less food so you’re hungrier
- Your body starts using the readily available stored energy like muscle glycogen first
- Then it starts burning fat
Since you’re no longer eating an excess of food, you’ll flush the water weight quickly before things start re-regulating.
That’s why so many people experience a rapid scale-dropping experience in the beginning.
But having done these short diets so many times over the years to balance out intentional weight gain phases, I know it doesn’t last forever.
In fact, right now we’re at the point where everything starts to slow down, which explains why so many dieters drop out after a couple weeks.
