Fitness Secrets Of An Insurance Salesman

Recently, I started training for a part time job in insurance sales.

The plan here is I’ll work for a few hours on each of my days off to make some extra cash on the side.

On the first training call, the instructor said something to the effect of:

“In the beginning, it’s probably better to do a lot of volume and make a lot of calls. This way you can get your reps in before working with the more qualified leads. Once you get good which will take 4–6 weeks, you’ll be able to spend a lot less time on the phone and earn the same amount, if not more.”

I can confirm this is true.

After doing 70–100 calls a day in tech sales back in 2019, I noticed myself getting better at actually having conversations instead of the calls going like:

“Hi this is Gabe with ___ and the reason for my call t…”

“Not interested” *click*

Eventually, I was able to go through my whole pitch several times per day and close deals when prior to that I could barely get a word out.

The secret?

Practicing the proven principles until I built confidence.

That confidence built competence.
