Here’s Exactly How To Structure Your Workouts For Best Results

There’s not a time where I go to workout and don’t know exactly what I’m doing for each exercise, how many sets I’m doing, or how many reps…

Going in with a plan is the best way to be efficient and make sure you’re making progress.

And over the years, I’ve learned there’s a particular way to structure your workouts for best results which can be adapted for your particular goals.

Here’s how it works:

1. Do Your Most Important Exercise First

Let’s say it’s pull day where you’re training your back and biceps.

The key exercises are some kind of row, some kind of pull-up or pulldown, and some kind of bicep curl.

In the vast majority of cases, you’ll get the biggest bang for your buck from something like a moderately heavy row for 2–3 sets of 6 to 15 reps.

So that’s what you’ll do first when you have the most energy to perform it as well as possible so you can get the most out of it.

2. Do Your Second Biggest Impact Movement Next

Staying on the back day example, the next most important movement will be something like a pull-up, chin-up, lat pulldown, or…
