How I Stay In Shape Without Thinking About It

When I first got started with diet and exercise, I spent every spare minute I had (and I had a lot of them at that time) thinking about fitness and how to eat and workout in the best way possible.

Even though I got a lot of things wrong compared to what I know today…

It served me well because I was still able to get results pretty quick and drop 30 pounds of fat.

Fast forward to today…

I’ve been able to continue to make progress all these years later without having to think about it.

Here’s how I got to this point:

I talk about calories all the time because they’re the foundation for all of your fitness progress regardless of the diet you follow or the workout program you’re doing.

I got this saying from Mike Vacanti years back and it still holds true today:

“Your body is counting macros even if you’re not”

That might be paraphrased since it was so long ago, but the idea is spot on.

Everything you eat has macronutrients and each macronutrient has a certain level of energy which your body uses for various functions.
