How To Deal With Workout DOMS

One of the most uncomfortable things about working out is delayed onset muscle soreness.

Aka The DOMS.

And the weirdest part is how this soreness isn’t so bad the day after a workout, but the second day?

It kicks into full gear.

I guess that’s why they call it delayed…

Yes, it can be a pain.

I’m dealing with it now as I write this due to one of the reasons I’ll talk about below, so I totally get it.

Fortunately, there are a few ways to deal with it and help avoid it moving forward so you’re not completely crippled every time you hit a workout.

The first thing to know is resting more probably won’t help you recover any faster.

Contrary to basic logic, one of the best things you can do is keep moving because the extra blood flow will help speed up the healing process even though it can be uncomfortable.

What I mean by this is skipping a workout won’t help much.

Doing your next workout despite how sore you feel will aid recovery.

One of the most common reasons for The DOMS is taking too much time off from your workouts.
