Having worked in sales and customer service for over 17 years now in multiple industries in multiple states of the US…
I’ve seen and talked to a lot of people.
And having spent 4 and a half of those years working at a gym…
I’ve noticed even the most avid of gym-goers can struggle to make any progress, and it’s usually due to one of 3 things:
1. Lack of knowledge
The basic principles of getting and staying in shape are not taught in schools, and unless you choose the right parents…
They’re not taught at home either.
Very few people know how food works in the body, so it’s no surprise the majority of the population struggles with diet.
Not to mention all the incredibly powerful marketing of junk food and the immediate availability of high calorie consumables nearly everywhere you turn.
Without understanding what your body needs, it can be quite challenging to get ahead unless you take the time to learn how to manage your diet.
Fortunately, there’s a plethora of information available online for no or low cost as long as you’re willing to look.
You being here right now already puts you ahead of many.
But then there’s another issue…
2. Arrogance Is A Trap
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my 34 years that changed my life, it’s that our time spent on this amazing planet should be spent as a life-long student.
But I didn’t always think this way…
When I first got started with my fitness journey, I rapidly changed my physique from being skinny fat to in shape.
And because of these quick results, I figured I knew it all.
This unfounded arrogance caused me to make mistake after mistake and I lost sight of the vision I had for myself when I started.
In both 2014 and 2015, I ate so much food trying to get big and strong that I got fatter than I was when I started.
Sure, I had more muscle and strength…
