How To Set Fitness Goals And Actually Achieve Them
A lot of people talk about goals, and I think it’s super important to have something to work towards.
But there’s a right way and a wrong way to go about it, especially when it comes to fitness.
Here are some common goals I hear:
“I want to lose some of this weight”
“I’m working on getting stronger
“I’m trying to grow these arms”
And while these are all great and very achievable goals to have, there are a few pieces missing that can make a huge impact on whether or not you reach that goal.
Here’s what they’re missing:
1. They’re not specific enough
2. They’re not action based
3. There’s no deadline
There’s a simple way to reframe these goals that make them much more specific, actionable, and more likely to reach and this is how I’d change them.
“I will lose 20 pounds before the end of the year by tracking calories daily, lifting 3x per week, and staying active.”
“I want to increase my bench press by 20 pounds in the next 8 weeks by doing a bench press specific program”
