One of the biggest issues people face with dieting is not being able to be perfect.

With all the variables in regular daily life, there shouldn’t be a surprise there can be variables in your diet as well.

But there is for so many people.

If you mess up your diet one day, it doesn’t mean all is lost.

A good way to think about it is this:

If you miss a turn on your GPS for whatever reason, you’ll still get to your destination…

It just might take a bit longer.

Now this might sound crazy to some, but you can still get amazing results from your diet even if you fail to be in a 500 calorie deficit 30% of the time.

A practical example of what I mean is you can eat at maintenance calories 2 days per week and hit your diet the other 5 days and still get steady results.

So for those who like eating more on weekends, this might not be a terrible strategy for the sake of sticking with it long term.

And if that’s the case…

You can start thinking in terms of weekly calorie deficits instead of daily.
