Meal Prep Is Dangerous If You Ignore This Important Detail

I’ve never been a big fan of the classic Sunday meal prep where you make a whole buncha meals all at once and put them in those infamous plastic containers.

There are only 2 reasons for this:

  1. I do not have and will not buy that many containers, and if I did, they would be the glass Pyrex type, but more importantly…
  2. Meals only last in the fridge for so long, and that’s a gut-health game I’m not willing to play

In most cases, prepped meals only last 3–4 days in the fridge.

So if you decided to meal prep for the week, the best option from there is to have a couple in the fridge and the rest in the freezer.

Otherwise you risk bacteria, parasites, and viruses growing in your food without you knowing.

The messed up part is you might never know this happened because it’s common to not display any symptoms, but the risk is higher than I’m okay with.

If I do end up prepping a meal, it’s a day or two before eating max.

Beyond that, I’m cooking fresh.

And it’s not even a fear thing, because I don’t think about it much at all…

It’s about practicing food…
