My Home Workout Review After 6 Weeks
For a month and a half, I’ve been skipping the gym in favor of working out at home.
This started because I needed to be home to help my wife recover from delivering our second daughter.
But now that she’s mostly recovered already…

I’ve decided to continue working out at home for a few reasons:
1. It seems to align better with 52+ hour work weeks — Even though I’m temporarily working at a location super close to the gym and close to home, 4 days per week I work from 7:15am to 6:15pm. And since Martha is home with 2 babies, she can’t really take our dog out so I rush home to take her out. I could definitely still hit the gym on my days off, but I could also save the commute and hit the weights at home which is what I’ve been doing for the time being. And once I get my promotion and take over my own store soon, I’ll be out of the house from 6:30am until about 7pm so it wouldn’t be ideal to hit the gym 5 out of 7 days per week and still, you know… have a dog and family lol
2. High rep training has been feeling great — For years I’ve been caught up in the strength training trap of 4–6 reps and always pushing heavier weight. More recently, I’ve been working in the 8–15 rep range and that helped me build muscle noticeably faster. Now I’m…
