My Unfiltered Thoughts On Meal Prep Companies
Recently got a question from a new member of The Gains With Gabe Program and he asked me (paraphrased):
“What do you think about these kinds of meal services?”
…referring to an ad for a meal prep company advertisement online.
And it got me thinking…
Even though that particular company looked like the fitness equivalent of Chef Boyardee and you couldn’t pay me to eat it, I think the concept is genius.
Both from a business and consumer perspective.
On the business side, people are super busy and on average… they end up making less-than-ideal food choices due to the time constraints of short lunch breaks.
On the consumer side, it’s super convenient to just heat up an already prepped meal with solid nutrition so you don’t have to think about what to eat.
From what I’ve seen, the pricing of $7–12 bucks a meal is more than reasonable too especially considering the amount of time saved and the fact that fast food is no longer as cheap as it once was.
As good of an idea as it sounds… there are some potential drawbacks.
First off, you never know if these prepped meals are any good until you try them, and as far as I know you can’t just order one.
