My Wife’s Zero-Effort Diet Hack

Back in October 2021, our first daughter was born.

For a couple months, my wife spent exactly 0 minutes per day worrying about the way her body looks because she was so busy learning how to be a great mom.

But eventually, she wanted to get back into shape.

So once she was cleared to workout again, we started putting together a bit of a plan.

The goal wasn’t for her to get back to heavy lifting right away…

We simply wanted to get her moving a bit first.

Which is exactly what she did.

We started taking more walks and got into doing super light, slightly modified versions of the classic compound movements:

-Goblet squats
-Dumbbell romanian deadlifts
-Dumbbell bench press
-Dumbbell rows

And that worked out really well for several months before we started hitting the gym again.

That’s all well and good, but as I’ve said many times before:

Most of your results will come from your diet.

So how did she handle that?

She didn’t.

She didn’t track a single calorie.

She didn’t weigh any food.

She didn’t stick to any particular diet.

Even though she’s excellent at weighing and tracking food and understands dieting very well…

Her zero-effort diet hack was this:

My wife was so busy 24 hours per day with our baby, she barely had time to even think about eating!

Fortunately, she had me so I could mentally track her food and make sure she was eating enough to support recovery and sustain energy.

The only thing she did was eat what she could when she could, and I made sure we had easily accessible foods like bars and other relatively low-calorie snacks like milk and greek yogurt.

The dinners we made were generally varieties of chicken and low fat, home cooked french fries or potatoes.
