Science Bro Claims Eating Less Is A Waste Of Time

Recently, I came across an advertisement on Instagram where some guy was talking about how calorie counting and restricting your eating was a giant waste of time.

He said it doesn’t work for many people because they’re missing one magical key secret life hack that incinerates fat right off your body.

That magical key secret life hack? Eating based on your hormonal profile.

Allegedly, the reason people get out of shape is because their hormones are all messed up and the solution is to eat in a way that addresses that.

And while I’m no hormone-ologist, there is a sliver of truth to that based on what I understand.

I have multiple relatives, either by blood or by law, with underperforming thyroids which can cause a 10–20% reduction in calorie burn, even at the same height, weight, age, gender, and activity level.

But here’s where that bold claim in the advertisement falls flat:

If this science bro is dealing with people with that condition, not only is it still important to control how much you’re eating…

It’s considerably more vital to be extra careful, because the metabolic efficiency is lower which makes fat gain easier with the same food intake.
