Self-Sabotaging Diet Blunders
I’m all for enjoying a treat or two, even while on a diet, but there are a few things I will not buy anymore:
-Oreos of any sort
-Chocolate that isn’t 80%+ dark
-Non-single serving ice cream
I’ve realized through trial and (way too much) error that these food-like products seem to delete my willpower.
In other words, I have a difficult time not over-eating them.
So I simply do not buy them anymore.
There was a time where Martha and I would have one or two half-gallons of ice cream in the freezer at all times.
It started off with good intentions…
Every day or two, I’d slap the container on a food scale and measure out 1–2 servings to enjoy which fit into my calorie goal quite nicely.
But more often than I’d like to admit…
Self-control went out the window and I’d finish off the 4–6 remaining servings in one sitting.
Or worse yet…
I’d buy a Ben and Jerry’s pint which was anywhere between 800–1200 calories and crush the whole thing.
It took me a while to realize this terrible cycle I was in, and was eventually able to just stop buying it.
