The Crazy Reason Why I Skipped The Gym This Week
I don’t always skip the gym, but when I do… it’s for one of three reasons:
1. My highly busy schedule doesn’t allow it and I usually push the workout to the next day
Or…
2. My body is feeling extra beat up from training to failure every session so I’ll take extra rest days to recover
Or…
3. Something crazy happens and I take off as much time as I need until things get sorted
And in this case, reason number 3 was the cause.
Unfortunately, last Monday on the way home from work, our SUV got hit by a small pickup truck on a difficult left turn.
Very fortunately, everyone is okay.
But in regards to the gym?
My wife and I are recovering from the impact.
So training was not a smart idea this past week.
That said, I’m feeling good enough now to do some light work this coming week.
If anything, the additional blood flow might combined with eating extra food in my ‘just-over-maintenance-calories’ diet might aid in healing.
I’m looking forward to it.
