One of the most infamous workouts you can ever do is leg day, because the vast majority of people can’t stand it…

And it makes perfect sense as to why:

Most people go way too hard for way too long and obliterate every fiber in their legs, get really sore, take an extended time away from leg day, and even the most basic of leg workouts will cause that soreness again.

It’s a vicious cycle, but fortunately it can be easily avoided by following a few key principles:

Stick To The Basics Of Leg Training

You don’t need 42 different exercises to get a good leg workout, and all you need is:

  • Some kind of squat
  • Some kind of deadlift
  • Some kind of split squat
  • Some kind of straight leg calf raise

2–3 sets each for at least 6 reps per set and you’ve already done plenty of work.

If you haven’t been consistent with leg training or are just getting into working out, I’d suggest sticking to 2 sets per exercise.

It may not seem like much, but if you apply what I’m about to share…
