This Impromptu Road Trip Absolutely Wrecked My Body (And My Fitness Progress)
At the risk of sounding like a recluse, one of my least favorite things to do is travel.
So much so that I landed a super easy yet relatively high paying job a couple weeks ago, but rescinded my job offer acceptance the day before starting due to the amount of travel required, which was a 1 to 4 hour round-trip commute depending on the location I’d be at.
Ironically enough, the day after I canceled that job…
I drove 2,000 miles in a 48 hour period to pick up our 2 cats from my in-laws.
And even though I’m glad we have our cats back (who both need to go on a diet because they gained multiple pounds from all the treats they got), one of the many reasons I hate traveling is this:
I’m still not recovered from that trip…
My sleep is more messed up than ever, my energy is low, allergy symptoms are at an all-time high, and my lower back is all jacked up.
A terrible combination…
Low energy makes it tougher to do physical things, which burns less energy, which makes sleeping tougher, which makes recovery rates lower, which causes lower energy.
