Growing up in the 90s, I spent a whole lotta time playing Mario Kart on N64 and got pretty good at it.

It got to the point where even the infamous Rainbow Road became easy, and I would win against most of my friends and family most of the time.

My skills remained when Double Dash came out in 2003.

And they were just as good for every version of the game that followed.

Just last year, Martha was invited to online gaming parties with her friends, and get this:

She could hold her own and do pretty well, but every few races I would take over without telling anyone online and “Martha” would start winning entire races.

She would be on the mic, but I’d be the driver.

People were confused at first but eventually figured it out lol

So how did I get good at the game?

I learned the drifting technique.

I figured out the shortcuts.

I chose high top speed characters.

And I put lots of hours of practice into the game.
