What To Do When Progress Has Stalled On Your Fitness Journey
One of the most powerful things you can do when progress has stalled is audit what you’re doing.
But the trick is knowing what aspects of your diet or training you need to audit.
For example, over the last several months I’ve been working to build muscle and gain weight, but up until recently, what I was doing stopped working.
I’ve now been at 165lbs for nearly 2 months, and if anything I’ve lost a bit of muscle from training at home with light weight.
Which makes sense considering I was lifting heavy, then I started lifting lighter due to necessity.
That said, the best way I’ve found to self audit is by following the diet and training pyramids put together by Eric Helms over a decade ago.
Here’s what he listed out in order of importance for diet and training so you can see where you need to improve:
Diet
1. Energy balance
2. Macronutrients
3. Micronutrients
4. Nutrient Timing
5. Supplements
