Why I Stopped Doing Chin Ups This Week
Yesterday, I had my pull day workout which usually consists of weighted chin ups, barbell rows, barbell curls, and hammer curls…
But by the time I was done…
I only did barbell rows and hammer curls.
Here’s what happened:
Last week, I started doing morning workouts instead of training at night, and quickly realized I’m not able to go straight into my exercises quite the same way.
I need more warm up time to train at 5:15am…
Which makes sense considering my previous night time sessions would be after working, moving around, walking, and generally being awake all day.
But the unfortunate way I found out was during last week’s pull day…
During my second set of weighted chin ups, I started feeling a weird pain in my left elbow.
And even though it faded across the week…
It’s still not gone.
So instead of pushing through and injuring myself further, I decided to skip out because even bodyweight chin ups weren’t agreeing with me.
And knowing that barbell curls use the elbow in a similar way to chin ups, I skipped out on those too.
