Why My Short Workout Strategy Reigns Supreme
Not too long ago, I got a question from an Inner Circle member about how to improve their workout routine, because it seemed like the workouts were too short and they felt a bit lazy as a result.
And taking a moment to think about it, it makes sense.
The message perpetuated from most bodybuilders over the last several decades, fitness magazines, and even social media today might have you thinking you need to workout for 1–2 hours per day 4–6 days per week.
I’m not saying that doesn’t work…
It’s just not practical to do long workouts for 2 reasons:
- The amount of sleep and stress level maintenance you need to recover is very high with long, frequent workouts
- There isn’t enough time in the day to make it make sense if you have a job, a family, pets, hobbies, side hustle, etc.
Not to mention, the extra progress you might make from it is negligible over a 5 year span compared to shorter, less frequent workouts as long as you’re following the right workout principles.
