Why You Can’t Stick To A Diet
2 min readJul 20, 2024
The number of people who start a diet in January and actually stick to it until February is relatively low.
But now we’re in July and that number is dramatically lower.
And there’s a myriad of reasons why, such as:
- It’s hard to diet (and I agree it can be)
- Not knowing what to eat
- Lack of diet planning on holidays and random weekends
- Mistaking boredom for hunger
- Messing up once and throwing the whole diet away
- Lack of supportive friends or family “just have one bite”
- Not finding the right internal drive to make it happen
But one of the biggest and most common reasons why you can’t stick to a diet?
It’s trying to do too much, too quick.
And this usually means one of 2 things:
- The diet changes are too dramatic
- The calorie deficit is too big
Think about it this way…
If you’re used to eating a certain way for so long, of course you’re going to have to make some changes, otherwise you’ll keep getting the same results you’ve been getting.
