Why You SHOULD Compare Your Physique To Others

It makes sense why you’re told you shouldn’t compare yourself to others, because everyone is a little bit different and it doesn’t feel good if you’re not up to par…

But that’s the wrong way to think about it.

The interesting thing about the human experience is your ability to frame any situation as you see fit:

For example, if you see someone like Chris Bumstead you could view it in two ways:

“Oh I could never look like that”

Which is probably true, unless you work your face off, have elite level muscle-building genetics, and essentially become an endocrinologist and pharmacologist…

But the other way to think about it is this:

“Okay he has a system of diet and training that allows him to completely control his body fat levels, build muscle, and look his best, so I can get my own system together to look my best”

And you can use his work ethic as motivation to improve your own.

While you aren’t going to look exactly like anyone else, you can do the following:

  • Focus on key exercises to build and strengthen particular muscles
  • Use progressive overload to ensure progress
