Will 100 Body Weight Squats Per Day Grow Your Glutes?
One random afternoon at the Airbnb we were at a couple weeks ago, my wife asked me:
“Will 100 body weight squats per day grow your glutes?”
And here’s my answer:
Yes.
…but not as much as you might like.
Admittedly, I haven’t done 100 body weight squats every day.
However, a few years ago there was a time where I did 5 sets of 20 reps 3 times per week.
Ah… the days where no one could leave the house…
Those were (not) the days…
Anyway…
I was able to notice a bit of muscle development just from those 3 sessions per week.
I’d imagine there would have been more progress from doing those 5 sets of 20 every day, but I’d also imagine there’s a catch:
With doing 3,000+ reps per month, the odds of injury are definitely higher since it would be harder to recover from.
Hips and knees are sensitive joints for a lot of people, and all those reps will just stress them out after a certain point.
Not to mention, since you should be doing more than just one exercise…
